1940’s Nettie Rosenstein evening bag embroidered in sequins with a overall old hollywood design.

This is an early work by her and has the 1940’s stamping inside or signature style confirms the age of this bag. which is in good condition for its age. It is clean inside and has lost some sequins on top lip corners, handles and near the pretty button you pull to open. The original owner saved most that fell off and they are included inside if you want to restore them. Being black I don’t think it detracts. The most important part the swirl sequin design on the body is in very good shape for its age.

9″ long X 6″ Tall Nice size.
Condition: Good condition. It is clean inside and has lost some sequins on top lip corners, handles and near the pretty button you pull to open. See the pics. The original owner saved most that fell off and they are included inside if you want to restore them. I don’t think it detracts.

The HISTORY:
Nettie was credited with creating the little black dress and she trained none other than Judith Leiber. Rosenstein designed bags for Mamie Eisenhower, including Mrs. Eisenhower’s bag for the presidential Inauguration. Her pieces are in museums and she was an important female designer from NYC. This bag is from the collection of an NYC opera singer.
