John Galliano Dior Massai Collar 1997
Out of Stock
Antiqued gold snake chain choker with a lovely clasp, reminiscent of a modern corset. Signed. From Galliano’s first collection for Dior. Referred to as the Massai collection, but as I understand it there was inspiration from the beading of the Dinka people. However; the Padaung people may also have been an influence. He is also credited with having referenced Dior’s new look of 1947 with his necklace shape. Housed in fashion museum collections, this collar is part of fashion history. The chains are graduated from about 15.5″ to 19″. Adjusts down a bit as well. Excellent condition.
