Byzantine style sterling earrings and cuff by JGD, Mexico City circa 1930s-40s. Each piece features turquoise, amethyst, and coral stones. The craftsmanship is apparent in details like the graduated color of the coral stones on the cuff. This unrecorded maker is collected, although little is known about them. This is a fine example of JGD’s work. This designer has appeared in texts and articles on the subject. The cuff measures 7″ X 1.5″. The earrings are 2″ long not including the hook X 1.25″ wide. Very good condition. Mild wear to sterling mostly near clasp. Age to stones but all are intact. Natural line/inclusion in one earring stone.
